ONE-DAY JUICE DIET

This weekly, one-day juice diet is a super cleanser of body toxins. For more cleansing and reducing, follow with a 1-day
water fast. Read Miracle of Fasting for more information.

A: two 8-oz glasses orange or grapefruit juice (preferably fresh squeezed is best)

B: one 8-oz glass pineapple juice, unsweetened

C: three 8-oz glasses Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar Drink (pg. 49)

D: two 8-oz glasses tomato juice, salt-free

E: eight 8-oz glasses of the following:
juice of 8 lemons
distilled water to make eight glasses
2 –3 Tbsps raw honey or Stevia to taste

A through E makes a total of 16 glasses of liquid, two to drink each hour. The quantities of the above liquids may be varied; that is, you may use three of orange juice and none of pineapple, etc., but the total liquid should be one gallon during the day. The results are amazing – you feel light and refreshed – so continue on juice or water another day, if desired. We suggest you drink daily the Bragg Healthy “Energy” Smoothie (page 49) after your juice-water diet.

HUMMUS

HUMMUS*
2 cups cooked garbanzo beans
juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp Bragg Liquid Aminos
1 cup tahini
shakes of Bragg Sprinkle
2 cloves garlic, chop

In blender, place cooked garbanzos with enough liquid to keep wet, about the consistency of peanut butter. Add tahini, garlic, lemon juice, Sprinkle and Liquid Aminos. Blend well and chill for 1 hour before serving. This makes nutritious pita sandwich spreads and tasty dips. This combination is important in a vegetarian diet since it supplies a substantial amount of vegetable protein. Makes 2 cups.

* Hummus is delicious and nutritious. Perfect for sandwiches, pitas, spreads, dips, appetizers and toppings for salads and vegetables.

Hands-Free Faucets Not Germ-Free, Study Finds

Electronic faucets may be touch-free, but they are far from germ-free. In a new study, researchers at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine report finding higher levels of disease-carrying bacteria on hands-free faucets compared to conventional, manually operated faucets. Their discovery led to the removal of all such faucets in clinical areas at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the cancellation of plans to install hands-free models in a hospital building now under construction.
