CABBAGE and SPROUTING BEANS

CABBAGE AND SPROUTING BEANS

3 Tbsps sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, sliver

1 cabbage, slice

5 oz sprouting beans

3 green onions, slice

1 inch fresh ginger, grate

1 carrot, cut thin strips

½ cup unsalted cashews or almonds

SAUCE:

3 tsps Bragg Liquid Aminos

1 Tbsp sesame oil

shake of Bragg Sprinkle

⅔ cup cold distilled water

2 tsps raw honey

shake of Bragg Sea Kelp

Heat oil in large wok and sauté green onion, garlic, ginger and carrot for 2 minutes. Add sprouting beans and sauté for another 2 minutes, stir and toss together. Add cabbage and nuts. Stir-fry until cabbage leaves begin to wilt. Quickly mix sauce ingredients together and pour into wok; stir immediately, coating the vegetables with this delicious sauce and serve. Serves 2-4.

Patricia Visits Friends at Honolulu Army Hospital

Patricia sends Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii. She met with Head Chaplain Wayne Garcia of Honolulu’s Tripler Army Hospital. Patricia was a volunteer Pink Lady and After Bragg Exercise Class in Waikiki,
she would volunteer at the Hospital.

The patients called her  “Miss Sunshine”. She cheered them up, read to them, wrote letters for them and did anything she could to brighten their day. To find out more about Tripler Hospital visit http://www.tamc.amedd.army.mil/.

CURRIED TOFU SALAD

CURRIED TOFU SALAD

1 cup firm tofu, cut into ½” pieces

shake of Bragg Sprinkle

½ cup apple, core, dice

½ cup carrots, grate

¼ cup currants or raisins

¼ cup roasted peanuts, or nuts of choice, chop

½ tsp curry powder

pinch cayenne (to taste)

¼ tsp tumeric

½ tsp raw honey

½ cup tofunaise

 Mix all ingredients, chill. Spread on lettuce Serves 2-3.
