Baby Koala Bear Twins Road to Survival and the Amazing Progress
When a friend sent me this story about the twin Koala Bears that lost their mother, I immediately wanted to share it with all of you. Years ago, when my dad and I were invited on special tour of the Sidney Zoo, I was fortunate to hold one of the baby Koala Bears at the Zoo. If you have never held a Koala Bear it is hard to imagine how soft and beautiful they are.
It is not common for a Koala to bear twins, and regrettably in this instance the mom was struck and killed by a passing car. Fortunately the driver stopped and took the mother to the local vet, not knowing she was dead, where it was discovered she had twins in her pouch.
See the picture below.

Raising wild animals has its drawbacks and its good points. These little guys are just so precious and they look like they’re thriving. Is there some way that a time can be put on the bottom of each photo so we can see how much time has lapsed from the first photograph on the new baby to the last photograph where they have grown?

Yes, to comment #1 regarding a timeline. Let us follow this, please. Let’s hope they can be returned to the wild.

A lovely story, so inspiring.
Just a note, though. Koalas are not bears and are never called that in Australia. Just “koalas” is the usual term.

Sorry, 2 quick points first… 1. It’s SYDNEY and 2. They are Koalas, they aren’t bears.
Great story though, very sweet photos! It’s great the work that’s done with wildlife in Aust
