Conrad Hilton Thanks Bragg for His Long Life

Conrad Hilton Thanks Bragg for His Long Life!

When the world’s most famous hotel magnate, Conrad Hilton, was 80 years old and laying on his hospital deathbed, we gave him a new lease on life by introducing him to The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle. He followed our instructions and discovered a whole new healthy, vibrant lifestyle! He was soon healthy, happy and fit, enjoying life! He even remarried at 88 years young! He remained active in business (half days at his Los Angeles office) to almost 100 years young! Mr. Hilton, at 88, was quoted in a People Magazine interview as saying, “I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for the Braggs and their Bragg Healthy Lifestyle!” Here is a photo of the grateful hotel founder with Patricia his healthy lifestyle teacher.

Healthy Heart Keep Your Cardiovascular System Healthy and Fit at Any Age, Dr. C. Everett Koop

Healthy Heart keep Your Cardiovascular System Healthy and Fit at Any Age: Dr. C. Everett Koop (excerpt) — Patricia Bragg

Bad Nutrition – #1 Cause of Sickness

“Diet-related diseases account for 68% of all deaths.” — Dr. C. Everett Koop

America’s former Surgeon General and our friend, said this in his famous 1988 landmark report on nutrition and health Dr. Koop & Patricia in America. People don’t die of infectious conditions as such, but of malnutrition that allows the germs to get a foothold in sickly bodies. Also, bad nutrition is usually the cause of non-infectious, fatal or degenerative conditions. When the body has its full nutrition quota of vitamin and minerals, including potassium, it’s almost impossible for germs to get a foothold in a healthy, powerful bloodstream and tissues!

What a person eats and drinks becomes his own body chemistry. – Paul Bragg

Salad Dressings & Salads: Healthy & Delicious

Salad Dressings & Salads: Healthy & Delicious

Today, many people make the mistake of concluding that salad is only lettuce. More adventuresome cooks will go so far as romaine, and perhaps cabbage once in a while; but, after that, often they have exhausted their full repertoire of salad-making. Nature has almost as many variations of the salad leaf as she has variety in plant life. As a nation, we have trained our grocers and vegetable stores into carrying only the more commonly accepted types of salad leaves; but it is possible at some markets to purchase more variety of delicious leaves, and perhaps you can also grow a small garden of delicious herbs and salad plants for your own kitchen garden. Examples of some of these leaves are the unique sorrel, fennel, and cresses – they are delectable salads in themselves. Also, the escarole, dandelion greens, nasturtium leaves, tender young leaves of the buckwheat, purslane, chicory, and the many varieties of lettuces and romaine, can make up a nutritious variety of healthy, delicious salads. We have many fascinating health salads for you: vegetable salads, fruit salads – but the king of all salads is the green leaf salad with its cousins, the wild and cultivated seasoning herbs. Do not cut your vegetables too fine, as the cut portions, when exposed to air, lose vitamin content. Serve as fresh and crisp as possible, not only to preserve the fresh taste and appearance, but for nutritional preservation as well.

Milk Is Not a Good Source of Calcium

Milk is Not a Good Source of Calcium — These Foods Are !

Nearly everyone has the idea that the problem of calcium deficiency will be solved if they just drink milk. This is not completely true. In the first place, practically all the milk in the U.S. is pasteurized, which robs and greatly reduces availability of milk’s calcium.

Dr. Harold D. Lynch – famous author, researcher and physician – said recently almost fanatic use of milk as a beverage has added more complications than benefits to child nutrition. He further states milk may often be a primary cause of poor nutrition in children!

This might be due to the fact that proportionate amounts of Vitamins A and D and phosphorus must be present in the metabolism for the proper absorption and utilization of calcium by the body; another reason why proper nutrition and a balanced diet are so important!

Whole milk is a carrier of large amounts of saturated fat (cholesterol) and can lead to atherosclerosis. This food is just for cow’s babies. It’s not for humans if they wish to maintain a healthy heart for a long life!

Benefit From Natural Foods Rich in Calcium

There are some very fine sources of calcium other than milk. Scientists feel raw bonemeal is one of the best, as well as eggshell calcium, oyster shell calcium and bone marrow calcium. We prefer the calcium found in kale, corn, beans, veggies and soy tofu. In fact, as Dr. Lynch and Dr. Neal Barnard point out, all natural foods contain appreciable amounts of calcium. This chart shows some of the many foods that contain large amounts of calcium you should include in your diet.

Common Cold and the Body’s Miracle Cleansing Process

Common Cold – The Body’s Miracle Cleansing Process

Any one day in winter, over 30 million Americans suffer with a bad cold. Adults average five to six colds per season, while children and teenagers often get double that amount. The body wants the toxins out!

Are these colds necessary? How do people catch cold? What causes the common cold? Medical science has learned how to control many diseases that are far more serious, but remains baffled by the common cold. Is the culprit an unfiltered virus? Is it brought on by sitting in a draft, getting chilled, or getting one’s feet wet, as is often suggested by mothers through the ages?

Colds Clean Out Mucus and Toxins

While the theories are many, there seems to be only one sure fact – people who are in perfect health don’t catch colds. My dad spent a year living in the Arctic among the Eskimos. He never had a cold, and neither did they. He had the same experience in the South Seas, in the Balkans, among the nomads of the Middle East and with the native tribes of Africa. The common factor among all these people is that they breathe pure air, eat simple natural foods and get plenty of exercise and sleep.

By following this same basic healthy lifestyle, my Dad remained free of colds even in the midst of civilization. Based on his research, he found that the common cold is Mother Nature’s and God’s method of detoxifying the body. Most people are shallow breathers. And most live on the unhealthy diet of devitalized foods. Toxins start accumulating and clogging their bodies. That’s why it’s important to live a healthy lifestyle and fast!

The Body Self-Cleanses, Repairs & Heals

When the toxicity of these accumulated poisons, mucus, etc., exceeds the body’s tolerance, the natural vital forces set up a miracle cleansing-healing (common colds) crisis. The body induces a rise in body temperature (fever) to burn up the many toxins, while others are eliminated by a heavy discharge of mucus from the nose, mouth and throat. If the toxic overload is heavy, there may be a discharge of mucus from the bowels and perhaps diarrhea.

Instead of being alarmed, be grateful that your body’s natural Vital Forces are strong enough to take command and get rid of the toxins that you have accumulated! Don’t try to block this natural healing process with antibiotics.

Work with Mother Nature. Breathe deeply and fully to supply your body with the great purifier: oxygen. Rest and fast. Do a distilled water (8 glasses daily) fast or try a fresh juice fast. It is best to take only liquids during this cleansing and healing crisis. Your amazing body will fight for its life against a great deal of abuse. When you follow Mother Nature’s and God’s Laws and live The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle you can create a painless, tireless and ageless body.

Colds and Oxygen Are Great Cleansers

If you catch cold, remember you are passing through a natural cleansing and healing crisis. Heed the warning – fast! Mother Nature is telling you: You have allowed your body to become poisoned with toxic wastes and maybe by overeating. Work with me now by fasting – to cleanse your body of these toxins. Once this cleansing crisis has passed, now keep your body clean by following my Laws of Natural Living!

Often people tell us that they have a bad case of the flu. When we ask where they got it, this is what we hear –The flu’s going around. Everyone’s got it.” We then ask, Where can we find it? We’d like to meet some flu germs! They stare at us in utter amazement. To help them out of their mental confusion, we explain that when you breathe fully, live a healthy lifestyle and eat natural foods, free from all refining, processing and chemical additives – it’s then that you can build a powerful immunity against germs, viruses and illness!

Oxygen Cleanses and Nourishes

No germ can live in freshly squeezed organic orange juice because there is nothing in pure orange juice for it to feed on. All germs, regardless of their names, are scavengers! They feed on toxic decaying matter. It’s our personal opinion, based on experience and research, that a 100% healthy, natural foods diet – in combination with the enormous amount of pure oxygen pumped into the body by the vigorous breathing exercises taught in this book – help provide a natural immunity against most infectious diseases and germs.

Oxygen is not only the energizing factor which makes it possible for the body to eliminate the putrefied matter on which germs thrive, it also exterminates the germs. As you deep breathe more oxygen into your body and nourish it with organic, healthy foods, you give your body a greater ability to ward off germs and infections! When we practice Super Power Breathing, we increase our cardiovascular respiratory power. We purify and energize our bloodstream to carry more powerful, revitalizing oxygen to the heart and entire cardiovascular system. Start today – you will benefit greatly !

Blood — Your Miracle River of Life

Blood – Your Miracle River Of Life!

(Excerpt from Bragg Super Power Breathing Book — pg.10)

The blood circulates in a average network of around 60,000 miles of blood vessels that reach every cell in the body, from those of the heart itself to the top of the scalp and to the tips of the fingers and toes. The average individual has about five to six quarts of blood circulating throughout their vast body network. During rest or inactivity the blood makes one round trip per minute. During strenuous activity or exercise, however, it may make as many as eight or nine round trips per minute in order to supply the necessary fuel and oxygen for increased energy, and to help remove waste products and toxins from the body.

The blood vessels that carry blood from the heart are known as arteries. Those that return blood to the heart are veins. Both vary greatly in size, and are organized just like streams, brooks and creeks flowing into a river, which then join a larger river.

The smallest blood vessels are called capillaries. They are so tiny that most are visible only under a microscope! Through these capillaries the last of the food and oxygen is given off and the return trip is made via the veins, which carry the oxygen-depleted blood and toxic wastes back to the heart for purification. En route to the heart, however, most of the water-soluble wastes are transferred to the kidneys for elimination through the urine. Poisonous carbon dioxide gas, a major residue of energizing oxidation, is brought back to the heart to be expelled through the lungs.

Food for Thought

Filed under: Bragg Book Excerpts,Patricia Bragg — admin @ 1:45 PM

Food For Thought

Kindness should be a frame of mind in which we are alert to every opportunity: to do, to give, to share and to cheer.

– Patricia Bragg

Every man is the builder of a temple, called his body. We are all sculptors & painters, and our material is our own flesh, blood and bones.

– Henry David Thoreau

Fruit bears the closest relation to light. The sun pours a continuous flood of light into the fruits, and they furnish the best potion of food a human being requires for the sustenance of mind and body.

– Alcott

The men who kept alive the flame of wisdom, learning and piety in the Middle Ages were mainly vegetarians.
– Sir William Axon

The purest food is fruit, next vegetables, then grains. All pure poets have abstained almost entirely from animal food. Especially a minister should eat less meat, when he has to write and give a sermon. They say the less meat, the better the sermon.

– Amos Bronson Alcott

When you sell a man a book you don’t just sell him paper, ink and glue, you sell him a whole new life! There’s heaven and earth in a real book. The real purpose of books is to inspire the mind into its own thinking.

– Christopher Morley

There is much false economy: those who are too poor to have the seasonable fruits and vegetables, will yet have pie and pickles all the year. They cannot afford apples, yet can afford tea and coffee daily.

– Health Calendar, 1910

If families could be induced to substitute the healthy organic apple, sound, ripe and luscious, in place of white sugar, white flour pies, cakes, candies and other sweets with which children are too often stuffed, doctors’ bills would diminish sufficiently enough in a single year to lay up a stock of this delicious fruit for a whole year’s use. Through the law of cause and effect we choose our destiny through life. Moreover, we are our own prophets, for we constantly project our future state by the seeds we plant in our present.

– Cheryl Canfield

Arthur Reed, from Oakland, CA lived to be almost 124 years old, the oldest person in the nation. His virtuous habits for longevity: “I let go of three vices in my life. I don’t drink. I never smoked or chewed and a few years back I stopped gambling forever.”  He rode his bicycle to work every day and retired from Phoenix Ironworks just before he turned 114 years old.
