MORE CHOCOLATE MEANS MORE DEPRESSION, or VICE VERSA
Indulging in chocolate may help lift one’s mood, but a new study has found that people who eat the most chocolate have a greater likelihood of depression.
A study of 931 men and women in the San Diego area showed that people who ate an average of 8.4 servings of chocolate per month tested positive for possible depression, while people who ate only 5.4 servings per month did not test positive.

DOES PERFUME HAVE HIDDEN HEALTH RISKS?
That fragrance you wear, perhaps named after a celebrity, may make you feel sexy and irresistible, but chances are the label isn’t telling you everything that’s in it, according to a new report.
And that could spell trouble, says Jane Houlihan, co-author of the new report, issued by The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics in partnership with the Environmental Working Group (EWG).

Garbanzo Beans for Optimal Health
Garbanzo beans (also known as chickpeas) have a delicious nutlike taste and buttery texture. They provide a good source of protein that can be enjoyed year-round and are available either dried or canned.
A very versatile legume, they are a noted ingredient in many Middle Eastern and Indian dishes such as hummus, falafels and curries. While many people think of garbanzos as being beige in color, there are varieties that feature black, green, red and brown beans.

BROWN RICE and NUT PILAF
1¼ cups brown rice
2 cloves garlic, crush
2 Tbsps Bragg Olive Oil
1 tsp Bragg Sprinkle
½ cup unsalted raw nuts
fresh parsley, chop
1 onion, dice
1 large carrot, grate
2 cups veggie stock or distilled water
1 tsp mustard seeds (optional)
Bragg Liquid Aminos to taste
In a large shallow pan, gently sauté onion, garlic and carrot in olive oil for 3–5 minutes. Stir in rice and spices. Cook for a minute or two until grains are coated in oil. Pour in stock or water, add Liquid Aminos and Sprinkle. Bring to boil, cover, simmer gently 40 minutes. Remove from heat without lifting lid – this helps rice to firm up and cool properly. Set for 5 minutes. If rice is done there will be small steam holes in center. Stir in nuts. Season to taste. Sprinkle parsley and yeast flakes on top. Recipe can be made ahead and reheated.
Serves 4.
