PERC is a chem­i­cal known as per­chloroeth­yl­ene or tetra­chloroeth­yl­ene. It’s the sol­vent used by about 85% of U.S. dry clean­ers, but is also used as a metal degreaser and in the pro­duc­tion of many other chemicals.
