Baby Koala Bear Twins Road to Survival and the Amazing Progress

Baby Koala Bear Twins Road to Survival and the Amazing Progress

When a friend sent me this story about the twin Koala Bears that lost their mother, I immediately wanted to share it with all of you.  Years ago, when my dad and I were invited on special tour of the Sidney Zoo, I was fortunate to hold one of the baby Koala Bears at the Zoo. If you have never held a Koala Bear it is hard to imagine how soft and beautiful they are.

It is not common for a Koala to bear twins, and regrettably in this instance the mom was struck and killed by a passing car.  Fortunately the driver stopped and took the mother to the local vet, not knowing she was dead, where it was discovered she had twins in her pouch.

A new editorial published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine suggests that people who sit still for prolonged periods of time — such as desk workers or couch potatoes — have a higher risk of disease than those who move a muscle every now and then in a non-exercise manner, such as walking up the stairs to grab a cup of coffee.
