Holiday Pop Up Shop

Edible Santa Barbara and Carr Winery invite you to come out to this years Holiday Pop Up Shop this Sunday, December 2nd, at Carr Winery in Santa Barbara (414 N Salsipuedes St). You’ll find the perfect locally made gifts for your friends and family this holiday season! It’s a free event where you can shop for local treats and enjoy lunch from Scratch Kitchen all while wine tasting. A portion of the proceeds will be going to Fairview Gardens Center for Urban Agriculture and Bragg will have a booth set up so stop by and say hi between 1-4pm. See you there!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, delicious food and drinks! We have a Cranberry Pomegranate Spritzer recipe that will keep you feeling good all holiday weekend long!

Ingredients
20 oz of cranberry pomegranate juice
1/4 cup of lemon juice
3 tsp of agave syrup
3 tsp of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
2 cups of seltzer water
Cranberries
Pomegranate
Mint

Directions
Combine first four ingredients into a blender and blend together. Add seltzer water and gently combine. Pour into a pitcher and add cranberries, pomegranate, and mint. Garnish with lemon slice, serve and enjoy!

Green Bean Casserole

Can you believe Thanksgiving is one week from today?! This Green Bean Casserole recipe is simple, delicious and vegan!

Ingredients
For the fried onion:
Grape seed oil
1/2 a yellow onion sliced
1 cup of almond milk
1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs
3/8 cup of flour


For the cream sauce:
1 cup of cashews soaked
3/4 +1/8 cup of mushroom stock
2 tbs of Bragg Liquid Aminos
1 tsp of Bragg Nutritional Yeast
1/4 tsp of white pepper
1 clove of garlic


For the casserole:
1/8 cup of vegan butter
4 cups of sliced mushrooms
1/2 tsp of Bragg Sprinkle
1 sprig of thyme
4 1/2 cups of fresh green beans


Directions
1. Heat large pot with grape seed oil to 350°F. Add milk in one dish and flour and bread crumbs in another. Dip onion slices into milk followed by breading. Place into hot oil and fry until crispy (we double battered and fried ours).
2. Combine all ingredients for cream sauce into a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside when finished. Heat a large pan and in a large pot bring water to a boil. Add butter, mushrooms, herb sprinkles, and thyme to pan. Stir and cook for about 5 minutes
and remove thyme stems. Add green beans to boiling water and blanch for about one minute. Drain and shock with cold water.
3. Preheat oven to 375°F. In oven safe dish of choice add green beans, mushrooms, and cream sauce. Stir until all components are well combined and top with fried onions. Serve and enjoy!

Dr. Patricia Bragg is featured this week on national radio through the LifeTalk Radio Network on over 70 radio stations in the U.S. and other radio outlets in Great Britain, Australia, and Guam.  Dr. Bragg is interviewed on the program, Health & Longevity, hosted by nutritionist Dr. John Westerdahl.  The show features an interview with Dr. Bragg, who is recognized as the “Nutritionist to the Hollywood Stars, along with Cory SerVass, MD, physician and Editor-In-Chief and Publisher of The Saturday Evening Post, and health science researcher on the effects of coffee and blood cholesterol, Synnove Knutsen, MD, PhD from Loma Linda University School of Health.

The program airs live, on Friday, November 2nd at 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time and again on Sunday, November 4th at Noon Pacific Standard Time on the LifeTalk Radio Network and also through live streaming at www.LifeTalk.net immediate following the Salem Radio Network (SRN) News.

BBQ Jackfruit Nachos

These BBQ Jackfruit Nachos are the perfect Friday night dinner!

For the BBQ sauce:
3/4 cup Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 + 1 tbs cup of brown sugar
3/8 cup of ketchup
2 tsp of spicy brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp of minced garlic
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1/4 tsp of liquid smoke
4 dashes of cayenne pepper
28 oz of pulled jackfruit


For the queso:
1 cup of cashews
3/4 + 1/8 cup of filtered water
1/4 cup of Bragg Nutritional Yeast
1 tsp of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of chili powder
1 clove garlic of garlic
3/4 tsp of smoked paprika
1/4 tsp of turmeric powder


Toppings:
Tortilla chips
Black beans
Pickled onions
Sliced jalapeños
Sliced grape tomatoes
Sliced green onion
Vegan sour cream


Directions
1. In a large pot on medium heat add all ingredients for sauce excluding jackfruit. Stir and allow to simmer letting sugar caramelize. Once sauce is ready add pulled jackfruit and stir in. Set aside and allow to marinate.
2. Combine all ingredients for queso into a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside when finished. Grab dish ware of choice and add chips followed by queso, jackfruit, and
toppings. Serve and enjoy!
