Pea Pasta #iLikeToBragg

Today’s #iliketoBragg recipe –> Pea pasta with lemon and nutritional yeast!
 
Mix a pound of gluten-free pasta with 3–4 cups fresh peas, 5 scallions, 1 thinly sliced shallot, 1 cup of very finely diced fresh mint, 1 cup chopped Italian parsley, ½ cups of Bragg’s Olive Oil, 2 lemons for juice, fresh pea shoots, baby spinach, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper, and most importantly 1 tablespoon of Bragg’s Nutritional Yeast.
 
Swirl with your fork to plate it as a giant pinwheels (3 in a bowl per serving). Top with parmesan cheese to your liking. Red, White and Blue Salad

Still feelin’ the red, white and blue spirit? Try this recipe with fresh ingredients and a poppy seed dressing using our Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar – keep it vegetarian, gluten free, and festive!

 

This easy recipe creates a salad for four servings (just double or triple it for a larger group), perfect for summer picnics! To create the colors of the American flag, use organic strawberries, spinach, and blueberries. Flavor it up with poppy seed dressing made with apple cider vinegar. Here’s everything you will need for your summer treat.

 

SALAD INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 4 cups of baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries
  • 4 tbsp of poppy seed dressing
  • 1/4 cup of feta crumbled cheese

DRESSING RECIPE

  • 1/2 cup light vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp of agave
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp of poppyseeds
  • 2 tbsp strawberries
  • Pinch of dried chives

 

Instructions for dressing: Combine vinegar, agave, mustard, and strawberries in a blender until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine sieve and return to the blender. Blend on high and slowly pour the oil inside. The dressing should become a little creamy. Stir in poppyseeds, salt and pepper and chives. Mix quickly for 5 seconds more in blender. Place in a jar for storing in your refrigerator fridge up to a week.

 

Instructions for salad: In a mixing bowl, combine all salad ingredients (pre-slice strawberries) above and stir together lighty (be sure not to wilt the spinach leaves in this process). Spoon salad dressing over salad and toss. 

Serve your red, white and blue mix for this perfect holiday weekend. You can also store your salad leftovers in a mason jar, to keep fresh in the fridge.

Picnic-Perfect Lemonade with Apple Cider Vinegar 

If you are a fan of apple cider vinegar, you probably already know that it can lower blood sugar levels, reducing weight, and helps improve heart health.

So how can we utilize this superdrink in a picnic-perfect lemonade recipe? The Bragg’s family loves a good ole’ Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar lemonade. By combining the vinegar with a fresh-squeezed lemon juice and light agave syrup – you’ll take those neighborhood lemonade stand recipes up a notch or 10, plus enjoy a healthier version of the classic.

Here’s the recipe to yield a 2 pint pitcher of this magic mix, with only about 65 calories.

What you’ll need:

  • 6-8 lemons (enough for 1 cup of lemon juice)
  • 4 tbsp of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2-4 tbsp of agave or raw honey (to taste)
  • 6 cups sparkling water
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Cut lemons in halves, use a hand-press squeezer to press the juice out of all lemons
  • In a pitcher, mix together ice, with lemon juice, and slowly stir in apple cider vinegar and agave (add as much or as little to sweeten to your liking)
  • Pour in sparkling water
  • Top off the rest of your pitcher with ice to keep it cold and refreshing

Also, note that this healthy mixture can be made in advance, and kept to store in the fridge for a week.

Modern Potato Salad

The Perfect 4th of July Picnic Side: Modern Potato Salad with Bragg’s Nutritional Yeast

We’re taking potato salad to a new level with our Bragg’s Nutritional Yeast. Adding this flavor to a semi-traditional recipe brings a richer, fuller flavor and a grouping of B vitamins (B3, B6, B2, B1, B12). You can feel good about having seconds.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 ½ lbs red potatoes
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise or veganaise
  • 3 tbsp Bragg’s Nutritional Yeast
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ⅓  cup diced white onions
  • ½ fresh-squeezed lemon

Instructions:

  • Wash, peel and dice potatoes into small bite-sized cubes, set aside
  • Dice onions into as small of pieces as possible
  • To the bowl of potatoes, add: onions, mayonnaise, mustard, nutritional yeast, turmeric, salt and pepper – stir until fully mixed
  • Squeeze half a lemon on top and sprinkle with a pinch more salt and pepper, plus nutritional yeast for presentation

This recipe makes about 8 small servings and is a perfect side for any backyard BBQ.

Up Your Grilling Game this 4th of July

Happy 4th of July weekend, fellow health fanatics! It’s burger time! Here’s a way to make your burger a little healthier. How so, you might be wondering? With Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids.

There are three ways for this grilling upgrade – the easy way or the more gourmet way.

 1) You can create your own grains veggie burger mix to your liking

2) Use your favorite brand’s frozen burgers 

3) Or use a real meat burger with your favorite mix. The choice is yours.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Thaw out your burgers and add a salty flavor kick with herbs or spices of your choosing
  • Add to grill or frying pan stovetop
  • When the burger is almost done and starting to brown squeeze a splash of Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids on each side of your burgers 
  • Place amino acid burgers on a bun, and add toppings of your choice (lettuce, cheese, onions, tomato, mayo, pickles, etc.)

Invite over your friends and family to celebrate American Independence Day together. Compliment with fun sides and fresh fruit. Enjoy! It’s really that simple.
