Bragg Supports Organic Soup Kitchen

Bragg Live Food Products (BLFP) and Bragg Health Institute recently supported the annual Organic Soup Kitchen (OSK) Thanksgiving Dinner, which fed nearly 1,000 people in the Santa Barbara community and drew hundreds of volunteers. OSK relies upon collaborative relationships in the Santa Barbara community with businesses, farmers, and other supporters and food suppliers like BLFP to accomplish its goals.

The OSK has been providing what Director, Anthony Caroccio refers to as meals that are ‘nutritionally dense’ for more than four years. He is committed to serving organic, healthy food to help prevent nutritional deficiencies in homeless individuals. By using fresh, organic produce to prepare nutritious meals that are low-glycemic and anti-inflammatory. For those in disadvantaged communities, this type of food is vital in providing essential vitamins and minerals that boost the immune system and promote healing.

In addition to hosting larger holiday dinners, OSK provides four meals weekly, and feeds ~800 to 1000 persons per month at numerous locations around Santa Barbara.

OSK will host another large holiday dinner on Christmas Day, December 25th from 12pm to 4pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Building at 112 Cabrillo Blvd in Santa Barbara.
