Children’s Belly Fat Affects Heart Risk

Children with higher levels of belly fat have higher pulse pressures, which puts them at risk for heart-related disorders, a new study finds.

Gangadarshni Chandramohan, MD, of Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, says doctors should measure children’s waist circumference to judge their level of obesity, rather than the commonly used body mass index, which is a ratio of weight to height.

MILLIONS OF CHILDREN HAVE HEARING LOSS FROM LOUD MUSIC in EARBUDS

A recent US study from Journal of the American Medical Association shows that loud music that kids listen to through their Earbuds might be causing severe hearing loss.

This growing trend is terrifying and many children in this age group (12-19) probably don’t realize how much damage they are causing to themselves. Let’s teach our children to turn down the music and remind them that our ears are just as important as any other part of our body.

Hearing loss may be cause by many different conditions and if you notice that your child have hearing loss or has ear aches you should see a doctor right away.

If you or your child has been diagnosed with ear infection you can use a few drops of diluted Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in each ear 2 times a day.

LIMITING TV TIME MAKES KIDS ACTIVE

Children whose parents set limits on the time their kids are allowed to watch television or spend on a computer are more likely to engage in physical activity than youngsters who’re glued to screens without restriction, new research suggests.

The study is published in the July issue of Pediatrics.
