Women, who pay regular visits to dentist, can curb their visits to cardiac surgeon, as a new study states that if a woman takes proper dental care, she’s at reduced risk of heart attack and other cardiovascular problem by at least one-third.

WOMEN MORE LIKELY TO REPORT POOR HEALTH

In the UK, women are more likely to report poor health than men, but this is not reflected in the rates of death among the sexes later on, according to a new national study.

The findings of the research are reported in an article in Population Trends, published by the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) on 25 March.

If you want to get a man to wash his hands, try making your reminder disgusting, a British study suggests.

Try this phrase: “Soap it off or eat it later.” That was one of the best hand-washing motivators for men in a study published recently in the American Journal of Public Health.

The midlife gender gap in stroke rates continues to widen, with women aged 45 to 54 now three times more likely than men in that age group to report having had a stroke.

Large fat cells may increase risk of type 2 diabetes in women

Middle-aged women with large abdominal fat cells have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life compared to women with smaller fat cells. Waist circumference divided by body height can also be used to determine which women are at risk. This is shown in a new study from the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
